SIMILAN ISLANDS DIVING - KOH BON
MV OKTAVIA

KOH BON

Day 3 of our Similan Islands Diving Liveaboard visits Koh Bon.  This imposing islet made of sedimentary rock looks as though it has been pushed up from the ocean bed, uncovering banded layers of rock.  Time and mother nature has formed many caverns and caves on the steep facings of the bay and north ridge.  Incredibly, the weathering as actually carved a large hole right through the northwest corner of the bay, making it possible to see all the way through and beyond to Koh Tachai on clear days.

There are three main sites to Koh Bon – The West & North Ridge, The Pinnacle, and The Bay.

Most famous for its migratory visitors the Giant Manta Ray, Koh Bon is the number one place in Thailand for divers and snorkelers to see these magnificent animals. These gentle giants love to circle around the west ridge, making for some very close and unforgettable encounters!
