For most Open Water Divers, the next step along their educational road is to complete their Advanced Open Water skills.  

Advanced Open Water Divers complete Five different ‘Adventure Dives’ to gain their certification.  Learning to Dive has never been more fun or convenient than with Oktavia Dive Center!

Scuba Schools International (SSI)

As a Scuba Schools International (SSI) Dive Center, our SSI Advanced Adventurer Course benefits from an On-line learning system.  This allows you to complete all the theory and quizzes of your chosen Adventure Dives from the comfort of your own home and before you even leave for your holiday!  By removing the need to study on-board, our SSI Courses grant you extra time during your Similan Islands Liveaboard to enjoy the great company of your dive buddies and the beautiful scenery of the Similan lands themselves.

Over 5 days and 19 Dives you we visit The Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, and the world famous Richelieu Rock!

Which Adventure Dives?

There are a number of Adventure Dives to choose from, such as 'Night Diving', 'Navigation', or 'Waves, Tides & Currents'.

Possibly one of the most important skills to master is your buoyancy.  Perfecting this skill allows you to increase your buoyancy control and therefore your positioning in the water.  It will help you to minimize your breathing and improve your air consumption.  Move effortlessly above the ocean floor and make your whole diving experience so much more enjoyable.  With your increased skills you will also help to protect the delicate environment from damage.

Our SSI Perfect Buoyancy Adventure Dive program can form one part of the 5 Skills required for you to achieve the SSI Advanced Adventurer Certification.  Teaching you the skills and techniques needed to maximize your dive experience, increase your comfort in the water, and get the most from your equipment – all whilst having the time of your life on-board MV Oktavia.
