Getting away from the crowds

Phuket's famous beaches of Kata, Karon, and Patong are a common first choice for holidays makers visiting Thailand for the first time, and with it's International Airport makes for easy transfers to the main tourist areas.  Although there remains many very beautiful places to stay and Phuket certainly does offer a great variety of attractions, food, and shopping, these areas can be a little busy and may not fit with everyone's idea of experiencing 'a taste of Thailand'.  For those seeking a gentler and more local feel to their holiday, you need look no further than an hour north of Thailand's largest Island.

Khao Lak Diving has been a major attraction in the area for many years.  Along with the great local dive sites close to shore, Khao Lak acts as the gateway to the famous Similan Islands.  Staying in Khao Lak allows you to benefit from the short journey time from your hotel/resort to the pier at Tab Lamu.  There really is no need to waste even more of your  holiday time sat in a minivan on departure & return day travelling the 2hrs north to meet our boat.  A  free of charge 15-20 minute ride south from your hotel reception area is all that’s required to board MV Oktavia and set sail into the sunset for the first night of your Similan Liveaboard.
